Welcome Back, Sgt. Hollinrake
Matt Hollinrake of Estherville left ten months ago to serve with his company, the Ironman Battalion. Left to wait for his return were his wife, Keri Hollinrake, and children Blake, Toria and J.C. The kids made welcome home posters and the family drove to pick Matt up Wednesday afternoon. The Estherville American Legion announced Hollinrake’s return as community members lined Central Avenue to welcome him back from duty.
The Ironman Battalion supported Operation Spartan Shield in the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility. This was the fifth federal mobilization for the Ironman Battalion since 2000, including a nearly 22-month mobilization in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from September 2005 through August 2007. Hollinrake served as Infantry Platoon sergeant for his unit of the Iowa Army National Guard.
