HUG Puppets back on stage
Puppet group started 18 years ago, launched Spring Show series
Terry and Edna Lutzow started HUG Puppets with a minimum of people, puppets and sets in 2003. The 2020 Spring Shows were called off, and since that time a longtime venue for the shows also closed. With 2021 presenting a new beginning, the Lutzows and six youth puppeteers presented songs, puppets, words and actions to religious and mainstream songs to several dozen people at Estherville United Methodist Church Friday night and Saturday afternoon. From John Fogerty to Heywood Banks, U2 to Brenton Brown, with several pieces in black light, and puppets, signs and icons speeding around the set, the show was action packed with a message.
For those who missed the Estherville shows, the group will have performances on weekends at Cutty’s and Joy Camp in the Lakes throughout the summer.
