The Class of 2021 from Estherville Lincoln Central High School faced adversity from pandemic rules changing the experience of their junior and senior years.

For the first time in years, if not ever, the class had three valedictorians, Allison Young, Emma Ross and Kendall Ruschy, who maintained flawless 4.0 grade point averages while demonstrating that high school is so much more. All three participated in athletics, fine arts, and other activities, and took the opportunity to give back to the school and perform public service.

Two class members’ mothers were remembered: Angela Finley, former science teacher and mother of Brendan Finley, and Teresa Paulson, mother of Garrett Paulson. Each passed away while their son was in high school, and the sons commended for carrying on in strength.

The senior vocal ensemble sang, “How Does a Moment Last Forever?” arranged by Mac Huff. The Senior Band Ensemble performed “A Song for Friends,” by Larry Daehn.

The class colors are red, black & silver. The class flower is a white carnation,a nd the class motto is, “I wish there was a way to know you’re in the “good old days,” before you’ve actually left them.

tPrincipal Mr. Brad Leonard left the class with another quote by Mohammed Ali: “…if they can make penicillin out of moldy bread, they can make something out of you.”
