Holiday Express of Estherville sold to Heyl Truck Lines of Akron
Holiday Express Corporation of Estherville is being purchased by Heyl Trucking of Akron. Heyl Truck Lines President Bruce Koele said the sale will be finalized on June 14. The Holiday Express terminal in Estherville will be rebranded as a Heyl terminal. Heyl has additional terminals in Florida, Texas, and Alberta, Canada in addition to other terminals in northwest Iowa. Koele told reporters the intention is to create additional jobs for mechanics and technicians and to build infrastructure and the shop, and to become a more significant player in Estherville. Holiday Express, founded in 1969, has specialized in operating refrigerated trucks that carry food to 48 states. Heyl Truck Lines was founded in 1949 and currently has a fleet of over 400 trucks.
