Donald L. Dodge
MILFORD — Funeral services for Donald L. Dodge, 90, of Terril will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2008, at First Lutheran Church in Milford with Rev. Tim Nappe as officiant. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Terril.
He died Jan. 5, 2008, at Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Donald L. Dodge was born on Jan. 28, 1917, in Milford, the son of Warren and Sadie (Phillips) Dodge. He graduated from Lake Center High School.
On Aug. 26, 1938, Don was united in marriage to Anna Harris in Spencer.
Most of his life was spent farming on the family farm near Terril. He started a seed sales business which continued in Terril after retirement.
Don attended the United Methodist Church in Terril. He was a member of the Dickinson County Pork Producers, Dickinson County Beef Producers, PCA Board of Directors, and served on the church board. Don was named Master Pork Producer by the Iowa Pork Producers in 1954. He also served as a 4-H club leader.
Family was very important to Don. He was very proud of the academic degrees achieved by his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Anna of Terril; sons, Dennis (Becky) Dodge of Estherville, and Doug (Lynn) Dodge of Terril; daughters, Marilyn (Dale) Grabarczyk of Rochester, Minn., and Marietta (Arnold) Smith Kruse of Spencer; 10 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.
