Norma Gielau Ricklefs
PERU, Ill. — Funeral services for Norma Gielau Ricklefs, 81, of Peru, Ill., will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2008, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Peru, Ill. Visitation will be held 5-7 .m. Thursday at the church.
She died Monday, Feb. 18, 2008.
Norma was born Feb. 28, 1926, to Otto and Anna Krueger of Denver, Iowa. She attended and graduated from Denver schools. Following graduation, Norma worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington D.C. during World War II, where she met Raymond Ricklefs. She and Raymond were married April 8, 1944, in Algona. Norma worked for the First National Bank in Waterloo and at Westclox in Peru, Ill. Norma and Raymond’s four children are Robert Ricklefs (Judy) of Topeka, Kan., Stephen Ricklefs (Jane) of Woodbury, Kan., Becky Cioni (Peter) of Leo, Ind., and Mark Ricklefs (Terri) of Wichita, Kan. They have 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one sister, and four brothers. She is survived by sisters Alice McDougall and Florine Gleason, both of Denver, Mildred Duhn (Bill) of Waterloo, and Dorothy Wooldrik of Iowa City; and by brothers Arthur Gielau (MaryLou) of Beardstown, Ill., Laverne Gielau (Bonnie) of Denver, and sister-in-law Georgia Gielau of Red Wing, Minn., as well as many nieces and nephews.
Norma was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Peru.
