GRAETTINGER — Funeral services for Michael Eastin, 51, of Graettinger will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2008, at United Methodist Church in Graettinger with Pastor Michael L. Shaffer officiating. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Graettinger. Interment will be at Valley View Cemetery in Graettinger.
He died Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Michael Eastin, the son of Homer Eugene and Evelyn (Winkler) Eastin, was born May 14, 1956, in Denver, Colo.
He received his education in Colorado schools, graduating from Eagle Valley High School in 1974.
Following high school, Mike moved to Wichita, Kan., and was employed with Cessna Aircraft. He then moved back to Denver and did carpentry work. On May 10, 1992, he was united in marriage to Deborah Reynolds at the United Methodist Church in Graettinger. In 1996, the couple moved to Graettinger and Mike continued his carpentry work. For hobbies, Mike was an avid hunter and enjoyed golfing. He loved going for rides with his dog, Max, and on weekends he would go to antique stores. Mike enjoyed helping in the community activities and was very active with community projects.
He was a member of United Methodist Church in Graettinger and was president of the Graettinger Business Club.
Left to cherish Mike’s memory are his wife, Deborah, of Graettinger; his daughter, Michelle Nestor and her husband, Chris, of Gypsum, Colo.; twin sons, Cris Bissell-Eastin of Milwaukee, Wis., and Drew Bissell-Eastin of Iowa City; grandson, James Nestor; parents, Gene and Evelyn Eastin of Fruita, Colo.; four brothers, Benny Eastin and his wife, Claire, of Paso Roble, Calif., Pat Eastin and his wife, LaDora, of Dillon, Colo., Jeff Eastin of Glade Park, Colo., and Danny Eastin of Colorado; mother-in-law, Elaine Reynolds of Graettinger; and brother-in-law, Mark Reynolds, and his wife, Julie, of Pocahontas. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; father-in-law, William Reynolds; and brother-in-law, Scott Reynolds.
