Steve Tredway

ESTHERVILLE — A celebration of life for Steven Tredway, 50, of Spirit Lake formerly Estherville, will be held 10 a.m. Monday, March 24, 2008, at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville with Pastor Susan Stone officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Monday at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel. Interment will be held at Estherville Lutheran Cemetery with military rites by VFW Post 3388 and American Legion Post 91.

He died Thursday, March 13, 2008, at his home in Spirit Lake.

Steven Douglas Tredway, the son of Rod and Norma (Myhre) Tredway, was born July 1, 1957, in Estherville.

Steve received his education in Estherville and Cherokee. After high school, Steve enlisted in the military under the Air Force branch from 1975-1979. He spent the majority of his time in Utah. After his military stay he enrolled in college at ILCC in Estherville. He obtained his two-year degree and then transferred to Mankato State University where he obtained his business degree. He worked in the tax and accounting field after college.

On Oct. 14, 1995, Steve was united in marriage to Shelly Koops. They have two children, Clay, 12, and Samantha, 9. Steve’s greatest joy was spending time with his family. Hobbies Steve enjoyed were golfing, fishing, hunting, flying, the “Hawkeyes” and being a father to Sam and Clay. Steve had a great sense of humor and loved to roughhouse and tease the kids.

Steve was baptized in the Lutheran church.

Steve is survived by Clay and Samantha, his children; his sisters, Kathy Culp and her husband, Tim, of Lakeville, Minn., and Linda Eisenmenger and her husband, Mike, of Windom, Minn.; nephews and niece, Crysta and Alex Culp, and Nathan, Matthew, Nicholas, and Adam Eisenmenger; and Uncle Marvin Myhre.

Preceding Steve in death were his parents, Rod and Norma Tredway.
