Elna W. Watts

GLENCOE, Minn. — Funeral services celebrating the life of Elna Watts, 81, of Glencoe, Minn., will be held 11 a.m. Thursday April 3, 2008, at the First Congregational Church in Glencoe with the Rev. Penny Entringer officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday evening with an Order Of Eastern Star service at the Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel in Glencoe. The organist was Lon Roach. The soloist was Lindsay Hudson who sang “You Live On”.

She died Sunday, March 30, 2008, at Glencoe Regional Health Services long-term health-care unit.

Elna Woods Watts was born July 8, 1926, the daughter of Robert and Elsie (Brood) Woods in rural Gruver. She was baptized and confirmed in the faith at the Gruver Presbyterian Church. She graduated from Gruver High School. On June 6, 1948, Elna was united in marriage with Ivan Watts at the Gruver Presbyterian Church. The couple lived in Ringsted until 1962 when they moved to Glencoe, Minn. Elna had worked in office administration for the Glencoe Mills, the First Congregational Church, and the Farmers Home Administration. She was a longtime member of the Order Of Eastern Star where she was a past Worthy Matron and a holder of all five Star Points. She also was a member of the Rip and Tear Sewing Group. Elna was a faithful member of the First Congregational Church and its Faith Circle. Her faith was always the source for her strength. Elna cherished the time spent with her grandchildren and loved following them in their activities.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and one sister.

Elna is survived by her husband, Ivan Watts, of Glencoe, Minn.; son., Ray Watts (wife Wendy), of Alexandria, Minn.; grandchildren Lindsay Hudson (husband David) of Madison, Wis., and Cory Watts of Alexandria, Minn.; sisters-in-law Janice Schnittger (husband Wayne) of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Burneile Madison of Ringsted; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
