Carole J. Wilhelm
ESTHERVILLE — Funeral services for Carole J. Wilhelm, 72, of Estherville will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 30, 2008, at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville with Father Brian Hughes as Celebrant. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville with vigil service at 7 p.m. Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Estherville.
She died Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at Valley Vue Care Center in Armstrong.
Carole Jean Wilhelm, the daughter of Anthony and Josephine (Prokes) Wilhelm, was born Feb. 26, 1936, in Jackson, Minn.
She received her education in the Jackson Catholic School.
On Jan. 22, 1956, she was united in marriage to Clifford Spoo in Estherville. Carole was employed for several years as a certified nurse aide at Rosewood Manor and then later at the Good Samaritan Center in Estherville. In June of 1981, she moved to Rosemount, Minn., and married Ronald Leibfried. She worked in Apple Valley and Cannon Falls, Minn. She later returned to Estherville. In her leisure time Carole enjoyed listening to country western music and she enjoyed playing cards.
Carole was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Estherville.
Carole is survived by her children, Dian Metteer of Estherville and Teresa Kennedy and her husband, Micheal, of Jackson, Minn.; grandchildren, Ashley Kennedy, Michael Metteer, Jason Spoo, and Justin Spoo; brothers, Richard “Skip” Wilhelm and his wife, Lori, of Mankato, Minn., and Mark Wilhelm and his wife, Sharon, of Seattle, Wash.; and sister, Marlene Cain, of Sherburn, Minn., and friend Donald Laidig Sr. of Estherville.
