ESTHERVILLE — Memorial visitation for Johnna Hauschen-Hicks, 45, of Rolling Hills, Wyo., and formerly Estherville, will be held 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2008, at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville.
She died Friday, June 6, 2008, at her home in Rolling Hills.
Johnna Hauschen-Hicks, the daughter of John L. and Phyllis (Schubert) Hauschen, was born Feb. 19, 1963, in Estherville.
She received her education in the Estherville schools, graduating from Estherville High School in 1981. Johnna then attended Mankato State University in Mankato, Minn., graduating in 1986 with her degree in parks and recreation.
On March 24, 1987, she was united in marriage to Mark S. Hicks at the Little Chapel of Flower in Las Vegas, Nev. The couple lived in various places throughout the United States while Mark was serving in the United States Air Force. In 1998, they moved to Rolling Hills and Johnna was employed with Rocky Mountain Recovery in Casper, Wyo., as head of client services. Johnna loved her job and the people that she worked with. In her leisure time she enjoyed swimming. Animals were a great passion in Johnna’s life. Her greatest pleasure in life was spending time with her family.
Johnna took great pleasure in attending church at Community of Hope. She especially enjoyed helping in the church nursery and attending Christian concerts.
Left to cherish Johnna’s memory are her husband, Mark, of Rolling Hills; one daughter, Courtney, also of Rolling Hills; her mom and dad, Phyllis and John Hauschen; and sister, Danette, all of Estherville.
Preceding Johnna in death were an infant sister and her grandparents.
In lieu of flowers, Johnna’s family is establishing a memorial fund in her memory for donation to the Humane Society.
