Juanita J. Nissen

ESTHERVILLE — Funeral services for Juanita J. Nissen, 79, of Estherville will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2008, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Estherville with Pastor Warren Baker officiating. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville. Interment will be at Dickens Cemetery in Dickens.

She died Wednesday, June 18, 20098, at Avera Holy Family Health in Estherville.

Juanita J. (Murray) Nissen, the daughter of Alan and Sylvia (Harris) Murray, was born June 13, 1929, in Graettinger.

She received her education in the Graettinger schools.

On Oct. 11, 1946, she was united in marriage to Ralph Nissen at the Zion Lutheran Church in Ruthven. After their marriage, the couple farmed in the Ruthven and Ayrshire area from 1947 until 1976. The couple then lived in the Sutherland, area for six years and in State Center for 13 years. They retired in 1988 and the couple moved to Estherville. Ralph died April 7, 1993.

She was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Estherville.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jolene Ayers of Estherville; Connie Zelinsky and her husband, Brian, of Terril; Ralph W. Nissen, Jr. of Terril; Deanna Damman and her husband, Duane, of Melbourne, Iowa; Debbie Jostand and her husband, Robert, of Graettinger; Randy Nissen and his wife, Lori; Rodney Nissen and his wife, Sheri; Ronnie Nissen; and Michelle Drinovsky and her husband, Chris, all of Estherville. Also surviving are 20 grandchildren, Art Jr., Kimberly, Mark, Tina, Tammy, Tom Jr., Tonia, Todd, Jason, Stacy, Chris, Lisa, Missy, Randy Jr. (RJ), Jena, Janelle, Jade, Whitney, Brianne and Derrick; 34 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one sister, Ellen Sheridan, of Estherville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Ryan; one granddaughter; one great-granddaughter; sister, Edith Boecker; two infant sisters, Virginia and Evelyn; three brothers, Homer, Kenneth, and Virgil; and son-in-law, Art Ayers, Sr.
