MARSHFIELD, Wis. – A memorial service will be held for Rick D. Fox, 47, of Auburndale, Wis., at 2 p.m. Friday, July 18, 2008, at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, Wis., with the Rev. Ruth Egerer officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1 p.m. until the service time. Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery with military rites by the American Legion Post 54 of Marshfield.
He died Saturday, July 12, 2008, at his home in Auburndale.
Rick D. Fox was born on June 14, 1961, in Estherville to Robert D. and DeVonna (Hoovel) Fox, Jr. He attended schools in Estherville; Fairmont, Minn.; and Blue Earth, Minn.; where he graduated from high school in 1981. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving from 1981 until 1985 where he was last stationed in Alaska with the 172nd Infantry Brigade which was his favorite posting. He married Paulette Mazzucco and they later divorced. He also married Gerianne K. Burggraf on Aug. 18, 2000, in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Since moving to central Wisconsin, Rick worked at Modern of Marshfield, SNE in Mosinee, and Menard’s and Figi’s in Marshfield. He had most recently been employed for the Wackenhut Corporation, working in security at the Weston Power Plant.
He is survived by his wife, Gerianne, and by two children, Elizabeth and Robert, in Arizona. He is also survived by his mother, DeVonna Berhow, of Fertile, Minn.; and his siblings, Shaun (Karen) Hyde of Erskine, Minn., Floyd Hyde of Minnesota, Jason Fox of Estherville and Christine (Kevin) Kuhlman of Arnolds Park; his maternal grandmother, Leota Hoovel of Superior; his aunt, Bonnie (Howard) Freeman, of White House Station, N.J.; and by many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is further survived by his mother-in-law, Marion Burggraf, of Stratford and by seven brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law.
He was predeceased by his father, his paternal grandparents and his maternal grandfather.
