Duane H. Dallmann
WALLINGFORD – Funeral services for Duane H. Dallmann, 80, of Estherville will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2008, at Wallingford Lutheran Church with Pastor Tedd Rieke officiating and military rites by the Wallingford American Legion Post. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville.
He died Friday, July 18, 2008, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Duane Harold Dallmann, the son of Harold and Ruby (Hansen) Dallmann, was born July 17, 1928, in Wabasso, Minn.
He moved with his family to the Estherville area as a child and graduated from Estherville High School. He attended Estherville Junior College also. Duane served in the United States Army Air Force from 1950 – 1954, during the Korean Conflict. Following his honorable discharge from military service he returned to the Estherville area.
On May 25, 1952, Duane was united in marriage to Marilyn Torreson in Wallingford. The couple made their home in rural Estherville where they raised their family and farmed. Duane was also a DeKalb Seed corn dealer for 20 years and sold livestock trailers. Duane loved working on airplanes.
He was a member of Wallingford Lutheran Church, Wallingford American Legion Post, VFW Post 3388, Masonic Temple, North Star Woodcarvers, Emmet County Soil Conversation and Emmet County Farm Bureau.
Left to cherish Duane’s memory are his wife, Marilyn, of Estherville; his children, Greg Dallmann of Austin, Minn., Gary Dallmann and his wife, Marcia, of Estherville, and Jill White and her husband, David, of Oklahoma City, Okla.; six grandchildren, Steven Dallmann, John David White, Samantha Dallmann, Cheyenne Dallmann, Caitlin Dallmann and Colton White; and one sister, Shirley Custer, of Estherville.
Preceding Duane in death were his parents.
