Shirley Lavae Nath
EVERLY – Funeral services for Shirley Lavae Nath, 86, of Everly will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2008, at Warner Funeral Home in Everly with Pastor Lauren Ley officiating. Visitation will be at Lone Tree Cemetery in Everly.
She died Sunday, July 13, 2008, at the Spencer Hospital.
Shirley Lavae Nath, the daughter of Charles and Ivah Bennett Allen, was born April 3, 1922, in Albert City. Her childhood years were spent in Ruthven where she received her education, graduating from Ruthven High School.
Shirley married Elmer Nath in August 1943. Following their marriage, they lived on a farm by Moneta. She worked as a cook in Moneta and later worked at a cafe. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Everly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer in 1983; three sisters: Ilene Moodie, Darlys Utecht and June Allen; two brothers: Derald Allen and Harland Allen; and a son-in-law, Steve Schick.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Larry and his wife, Gloria Nath, of Estherville, Roger and his wife, Renee Nath, of Everly, Linda Schick of Howell, Mich., and Keith and his wife, Mardee Nath, of Mesa, Ariz; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters: Betty Loomis of Ayrshire and Garnet Allen of Minneapolis, Minn.; one brother, Donald Allen of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; other relatives and many friends.
