Robert C. Prentice
TERRIL – Funeral services for Robert C. Prentice, 82, of Terril will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2008, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Terril with Pastor David Doellinger officiating. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Terril.
He died Wednesday, July 23, 2008, at Hilltop Care Center in Spirit Lake.
Robert Clarence Prentice, the son of Clarence and Flotilla (Wade) Prentice, was born Aug. 14, 1925, in Sac City. He received his education in Sac City schools.
On Feb. 5, 1944. he was united in marriage to Ruth Wulkow in Sac City. The couple moved to Terril in 1947 and Robert farmed and worked with livestock all of his life. In the late 1970s, he developed and built an ethanol plant in his corn crib and took the idea to Winnebago and then Bloomington, Minn. For hobbies, he enjoyed car racing, his livestock and visiting with friends and relatives.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Terril.
Left to cherish Robert’s memory are his wife, Ruth, of Terril; his children, Judith Kelp and her husband, Larry, of Terril, Richard Prentice and his wife, Becky, of Spencer, Craig Prentice and his wife, Cindy, of Terril and Keith Prentice and his wife, Donna, of Terril; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Therriault, and her husband, Art, of Las Cruces, N.M.; brother, Ed Prentice, of Estherville; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Prentice of Estherville and Flossie Wulkow of Wall Lake; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Paul; brother, Dean; sister, Donna; granddaughter, Jeana Marie Kelp; two grandsons, Eric Prentice and Brian Prentice and brother-in-law, Delmar Wulkow.
