Anna Rankin

ARMSTRONG – Funeral services for Anna Rankin, 87, of Armstrong will be held 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2008, at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Armstrong with Pastor Peter Soli officiating. Visitation will be noon to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Interment will be at Armstrong Grove Cemetery.

She died July 28, 2008.

Anna Mabel Rankin, the daughter of Carl and Verna Feddersen, was born Sept. 8, 1921, in Dolliver

She received her education in the Dolliver and Arnolds Park school systems. She graduated from Dolliver High School. On Sept. 9, 1939, she was united in marriage to Monroe Rankin at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. The couple farmed in the Armstrong area all of their married life. In 1974, they retired and moved from the farm home into Armstrong. They enjoyed wintering in Mesa, Ariz., for many years. Anna’s husband, Monroe, passed away Oct. 2, 1997. Anna stayed in her home in Armstrong until 2003 when she moved to Wel-Life Assisted Living and later Hilltop Care Center in Spirit Lake.

Anna enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing cards, cooking and quilting. Most of all, Anna cherished the time spent with her family and friends. She was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church in Armstrong and women’s VFW Auxiliary.

Left to cherish her memory are three daughters: Janice Walters and her husband, Jim, of Minneapolis, Minn., Linda Johnson and her husband, Robert, of Milford and Lana Miller and her husband, Monty, of Armstrong; and six grandchildren: Amy (Walters) Meehan and husband, Bob, Katie (Walters) Rodewald and husband, John, Jamie Johnson, Jesse Johnson and wife, Sara, Dana Miller and Ryan Miller; and also by six great-grandchildren: James Meehan, Emily Meehan, Mary Jo Meehan, Matthew Meehan, Anna Rodewald and Mason Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Monroe Rankin; her parents; two sisters: Edna Tordoff and Erma Hansen and six brothers: Virtus Feddersen, Henry Feddersen, Carl Feddersen, Louie Feddersen, Ernest Feddersen and Elmer Feddersen.
