Marjorie L. Kabus
SOUTH ST. PAUL, Minn. – A celebration of life service was held for Marjorie L. Kabus, 82, of South St. Paul, Minn., and formerly Arnolds Park 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 17, 2008, at English-Meeker & Kandt Funeral Home in South St. Paul. Interment will be at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
She died July 14 after a four and one-half year battle with dementia.
Marjorie L. Kabus was born Dec. 19, 1925, in Westport Township, Iowa, and graduated from Arnolds Park High School in 1944. Shortly after, she met William Hansen and they were married May 19, 1945.
They had a son, Randall, Jan. 28, 1947, and she was widowed in 1955 after 10 years of marriage. She continued to live in South St. Paul where she met her husband, Al, and through this union their daughter, Kimberly, was born Feb. 12, 1968. On Aug. 2, 2007, Marge and Al celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Edward and Florence Foss; brothers, Floyd, Howard and Clyde. Marge is survived by her husband, Alfred; children, Randall (Lisa) Hansen and Kimberly (Christopher) Kohs; grandchildren, Samuel and Jordan; and a host of loving dear friends.
We, her family, will deeply miss her, but we rest in the knowledge that our Lord and Savior has already said to her, “Well done Marge, good and faithful servant.”
Memorials are preferred to the Activities Department, Serenity Senior Care Home, 724 19th Ave. N., South St. Paul, Minn. The family of Marge wishes to thank everyone from the Care Center and Hospice who helped in Marge’s care over the past four and a half years.
