VALLEY SPRINGS, Calif. – Former Wallingford and Estherville resident, Delbert (Del) Hull, 81, of Valley Springs, Calif., on Aug. 24 after a short battle with cancer. Services will be held at 11 a.m., Sept. 4, at the Methodist Church in Valley Springs.
Del graduated from Estherville High School and following graduation, enlisted in the United States Navy. After being honorably discharged, Del, returned to Wallingford and was employed with the local packing plant at Estherville. On Jan. 26, 1952, Del and Darlene M. Weber were married at Wallingford Lutheran Church.
Del and Darlene owned and operated the Wallingford locker plant for several years. They enjoyed many years of dancing and all forms of camping and traveling around the country. Del enjoyed many years of playing on the Wallingford softball team.
Preceding Del in death was a son, Dennis, who died in 2002, his parents, five brothers and one sister.
Del is survived by his wife, Darlene, daughter-in-law Stephanie, three granddaughters, Kelsey, Madison and Hannah; and one grandson, Hudson; one sister, Maxine of Illinois; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Wayne and LoEtta Weber of Sherburn, Minn., and many nieces and nephews in California, Iowa, Minnsota, Illinois and Colorado.
