Gerald T. Stover
A memorial service for Gerald T. Stover, 72, of Wallingford will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 5, 2008, at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville with Pastor Doug Burton officiating. Military rites will be held by VFW Post 3388 and American Legion Post 91. Visitation will be held 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville.
He died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008, at the Doctor’s Hospital in Laredo, Texas.
Gerald Thomas Stover was born April 30, 1936, in Havelock to Maney and Dorothy (Wright) Stover.
He attended Spirit Lake High School before serving his country in the United States Air Force. He served from 1955-1963, spending one and one-half years overseas in the Pacific as a flight engineer.
Gerald spent most of his life in the trucking business. He enjoyed driving truck, riding his motorcycle, his step-grandchildren, and visiting with friends, staying busy and his Bichon Frisee, Barney.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Michele, of Wallingford; three step-grandchildren, Colt, Cierra, and Dalton Nelson of Worthington, Minn.; one brother, Smokey Stover and his wife, Audrey, of Deming, New Mexico; four sisters, Bernice Christopher of Shelbina, Mo., Vernice Klesath of Mason City, Evelyn Selzer and her husband, Bill, of Everly, and Carol Michels and her husband, Bill, of St. Louis, Mo.; and also by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
