Cristina M. Anderson
ARMSTRONG – Funeral services for Cristina M. Anderson, 79, of Dolliver will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008, at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Armstrong with Pastor Peter Soli officiating. Visitation will be noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Interment will be at Armstrong Grove Cemetery.
She died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008, at the Good Samaritan Society in Estherville.
Cristina Mae (Blom) Anderson, the daughter of Chris and Hanna (Jansen) Blom, was born Dec. 3, 1928, in Center Township in Emmet County. She attended Gruver School where she graduated from Gruver High School in 1946.
She was employed at Soo Valley Fishline in Estherville for one and one-half years. On Dec. 17, 1947, Cristina was united in marriage to Leslie Anderson at a Lutheran Church in Jackson, Minn. She farmed with her husband all these 45 years. Cristina was an avid gardener, especially enjoying the outdoors and her flower garden in the summer months. She is remembered for her many crochet projects that she did for family, the church, and for hire.
She was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church in Armstrong and a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church Women. Cristina had been a Circle chairwoman for the Mary Circle for 18 years. She also was a member of the Dolliver Chatter Club.
Left to cherish Cristina’s memory are her husband, Leslie, of Dolliver; one daughter, Donna Grotte, and her husband, Dean, of Fairmont, Minn.; two sons, Dale Anderson of Armstrong and Dave Anderson and his wife, Carol, of Armstrong; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Bertha Bliesmer, and her husband, Melvin, of Fairmont, Minn.; and one brother, Herman Blom, and his wife, Jean, of Estherville.
Preceding Cristina in death were one great-grandson; her parents; and two sisters, Matilda Hartung and Lorene Balsley.
