Jerry Alan Johansen
ESTHERVILLE – Funeral services for Jerry Alan Johansen, 50, of Estherville will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Estherville with Pastor Paul Wiegman officiating. Visiation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville.
He died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, at Avera Holy Family Health in Estherville.
Jerry Alan Johansen, the son of Harold and Arlene (Kroenke) Johansen, was born Dec. 15, 1957, in Estherville.
He received his education in the Estherville schools, graduating from Estherville High School in 1976. He also attended Iowa Lakes Community College in Estherville and Jackson Vocational Technical Institute.
Jerry lived his entire life in Estherville and was employed at Golden Sun Feeds in Estherville, Polaris Industries in Spirit Lake, and Day Break Foods. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes and Minnesota Twins fan. Jerry especially enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Estherville.
Left to cherish Jerry’s memory are his sons, Jason Johansen of Estherville and Jake Johansen of Algona; his mom and dad, Harold and Arlene Johansen, of Terril; his twin sister, Jane Preston and her husband, Paul, of Swea City; brother, Stan Johansen, and his wife, Marilyn, of Terril; brother, David Johansen, and his wife, Mary, of Irven, Calif.; and sister, Sue Berberich, and her husband, Troy, of Royal.
Preceding Jerry in death were his grandparents.
