CYRUS, Minn. – Funeral services for Elsie Wink, 87, of Cyrus will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cyrus with Reverend John R. Smith officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Interment will be at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, rural Starbuck, Minn.
She died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008, at her home in Cyrus.
Elsie Lenora Isder, daughter of John and Katie (Keilmann) Isder, was born Nov. 25, 1920, in Swan Lake Township in Emmet County; she was the oldest of seven children. Elsie grew up in Maple Hill where she attended country school. On March 22, 1945, she was united in marriage to Allie Wink. The couple made their home in Estherville. In 1958, they moved to a farm east of Cyrus, Minn., where they farmed and raised their son, Jim. Following their retirement in 1986, Allie and Elsie moved to Starbuck, Minn., for a year and then moved into Cyrus. Allie died in 1990 and Elsie continued to live in Cyrus until the time of her death.
Elsie was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cyrus. She was a Minnesota Twins fan and enjoyed road trips with her family and friends.
She is survived by one son, James Wink, (and special friend Becky Gades) of Cyrus, Minn.; three grandchildren, Andrew (Tonia) Wink of Juneau, Alaska, Adam (Andrea) Wink of Hancock, Minn. and Ashley Wink of Cyrus, Minn.; two great-grandchildren, Kaylee Wink of Hancock and James Wink of Juneau, Alaska; one brother, Johnny Isder, of Spirit Lake; and three sisters, Jennie McLoughlin of Lincoln, Neb., Eunice Voigt of Fairmont, Minn., and Esther Bickness of Fairmont. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one brother, Ernest; and one sister, Irene.
Pallbearers for the service are: Don Huntley, Robert Tirevold, Brad Berg, Brian Berg, Tyler Berg and Mike Wacker. Honorary pallbearers are Elsie’s grandchildren: Andrew Wink , Adam Wink and Ashley Wink and great-grandchildren: Kaylee Wink and James Wink. Karl Retzlaff will serve as organist for the service. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
