DOLLIVER – Funeral services for Margaret Clabaugh, 80, of Dolliver will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 11, 2009, at United Methodist Church in Dolliver with Pastor Linda Morris and Pastor Lyndon Roesler officiating. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville. Interment will be at Lincoln Township Cemetery in Dolliver.
She died Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at the Good Samaritan Society in Estherville.
Margaret LaVonne (Anderson) Clabaugh the daughter of Samuel and Hazel (Minton) Anderson was born July 23, 1928 near High Lake Township.
She received her education in Armstrong and Maple Hill schools.
On Dec. 24, 1946, Margaret was united in marriage to Alton Clabaugh in Jackson, Minn. Following their marriage the couple made their home in Dolliver where Margaret helped with the farming. She also worked at Kinnard’s Dairy, Berkley’s and the Iowa State Liquor Store. Alton died in 1999.
She was a member of United Methodist Church in Dolliver and her hobbies included: cooking, quilting, playing with grandchildren and great-grandchildren, following races, helping Jennifer and Travis with 4-H, traveling to Indiana and taking Jennifer and Travis to Adventureland.
Left to cherish Margaret’s memory are her daughter, Barbara Jane Houge and her husband, Toby of Dolliver; two grandchildren, Jennifer Jo Bradley and her husband, Doug of Avon, Ind.; Travis Alton Houge and his wife, Katie of Avon; great grandsons, Dylan and Logan Bradley; brother, Gail Anderson of Omaha, Neb.; sisters, Charlotte Matthes of Clinton, Mo.; Edith Clabaugh of Estherville; Elizabeth VaCura of Jackson, Minn.; brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
She has been preceded in death by her husband; parents; twin sister, Marilyn; brothers, Rex and Stuart Anderson as well as other loved family and friends.
