RINGSTED – Funeral services for Elsie Jean Morris, 59, of Ringsted will be held 1:30 p.m., Monday, Sept. 14, at United Lutheran Churchin Ringsted with pastors Lauri Boysen and Suzanne Wobig officiating. Interment will be at Ringsted Memorial Cemetery. She died Thursday, Sept. 10, at Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 13, at the church.

Elsie Jean (Albrant) Morris, the daughter of Clarence and Iva (Rogers) Albrant was born Nov. 7, 1949, in Estherville.

She received her education in the Estherville schools graduating from Estherville High School.

Elsie has lived most of her life in Wallingford and Ringsted. She was employed as a home health aide for Emmet County Public Health. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, attending grandchildren’s events, and reading.

Elsie was a member of the United Lutheran Church in Ringsted and had served as president of WELCA at St. John’s Lutheran Church and on the funeral committee. Elsie was a Girl Scout Leader and was also past president of the Ringsted Public Library Board. Battling cancer for 23 years, Elsie was an active member of Emmet County Relay for Life, where she served as co-captain and was honorary survivor in 2006.

Left to cherish Elsie’s memory is her special friend, Steve Behrends; children, Joe Morris, his wife, Jinel and their children, Zac, Eli and Gabe of Algona; Toby Morris and his wife, Darcey; Tim Morris and his wife, Loris all of Ringsted; Amy (Morris) Stouffer and her husband, Travis of Spencer; Amanda Morris of Estherville; five grandchildren, Taylor, Jacob, Jordan and Ashley Morris; Lacey Hotovec; brothers, Jim Albrant of Dickens; Clarence Albrant, Jr. and his wife, Ruth of Graettinger; Mark Albrant of Estherville; Edwin Albrant and his wife, Dyan of Manhatten, Kan.; and Uncle Richard and Marge of Manteno, Ill.

Preceding Elsie in death is her son, Jason; parents; five brothers; one sister; one sister-in-law; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
