Ardyce A. (Pell) Levell

ESTHERVILLE – A celebration of life for Ardyce A. (Pell) Levell, 74, of Dolliver will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 25, 2009, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Estherville with Pastor Paul Wiegman officiating. Visitation will be 4:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville. Interment will be at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Petersburg, Minn.

She died Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009, at Avera Holy Family Health in Estherville.

Ardyce Alvina (Jensen) (Pell) Levell, the daughter of August and Alvina (Rasmussen) Jensen, was born Sept. 23, 1934, in Petersburg Township, Minn.

Ardyce and her sister Avis were baptized together at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Petersburg. She attended schools in Petersburg and rural schools, graduating from Jackson High School. She then graduated from DeLyles Academy of Beauty Culture in Fairmont, Minn. Following beauty school she worked numerous years at Leona’s Beauty Shop in Jackson.

On Dec. 26, 1954, she was united in marriage to Curtis Pell in Jackson. Following their marriage, the couple lived, farmed, and raised their family in rural Petersburg. Curtis passed away on Dec. 9, 1985. Ardyce continued to live on the farm. On April 16, 1988 she married Robert Levell and joined him in Dolliver where she helped Bob with the farming.

Ardyce was a member of Union State Line Church for many years and then Trinity Lutheran Church in Estherville. She also was a 4-H Leader for 15 years. Ardyce enjoyed baking, decorating cakes, gardening and most important was spending time with her family.

Left to cherish Ardyce’s memory are her husband, Bob, of Dolliver; children, Ann Stephenson of Jackson, David Pell and his wife, Mindy, of Petersburg and their children, Glen and Jeff, Brian Pell of Sioux Falls, S.D.; Kenny Pell and his wife, Marie, of Petersburg and their children, Zak, Amanda and William; Joe Pell and his wife, Gloria, of Jackson and their children, Cale, Curtis and Simon; Bob Levell Jr. and his wife, Muff, of Silvis, Ill., and their daughter, Elizabeth; Judy Gosch and her husband, David, of Gruver and their children, Brian, Andy and Katie; Peg Mason and her husband, Ron, of Estherville and their children, Jon and Amanda; Mary Sampson of Phoenix, Ariz., and her children, Jacob, Adam and Derek; and Jodi Levell of Cave Creek, Ariz., and her daughter, Madeline; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Avis Schnichels, and her husband, Matt, of New Ulm, Minn.; brother-in-law, Roger Pell, and his wife, Wilma, of Jackson; sisters-in-law, Darlene Stender and her husband, Carlyle, and Nancy Hansen of Lakefield, Minn. and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis; parents; infant daughter, Brenda; brother, Adrian Jensen; two infant brothers and son-in-law, Russ Stephenson; sister-in-law, Bonnie Brown and brother-in-law, Harold Hanson.
