Robert J. Brown, D.C.
MACON, Ga. – A memorial service for Robert J. Brown, D.C., 82, of Macon, Ga., and formerly Estherville, will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009, at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer at 390 Pierce Ave., in Macon, Ga. 31204.
He died Monday, Oct. 5, 2009, in a local hospital.
Dr. Brown was born in Estherville. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church across the road from his country home. He graduated from Estherville High School, St. Olaf College and Palmer Chiropractic College.
He practiced Chiropractic in Macon, Ga., from 1955-2008. He was a past president of the Georgia Chiropractic Association and served on the Board of Directors for many years. Dr. Brown was also a member of the American and International Associations. He was certified in videoflouroscopy, physiological therapeutics and chiropractic orthopedics.
He enjoyed traveling, collecting, beautiful gardens and classical music. He was a friend to many Christian ministries and to several people who needed help.
He never sang the blues “this world has been a wilderness – I’m ready for deliverance” thanks to his years in the Optimist Club and his faith in the Lord.
Dr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Tillis Brown, and his brother, Wayne E. Brown. Survivors are his brother, Pastor Harold Brown (Edwyna); his sister, Marlys Dotzenrod (Wayne); his sister-in-law, Sandra Brown; nieces, Debbie Dirisamer and Natalie Vanderventer and nephews, Luther, Mark and Greg Brown.
Snow’s Memorial Chapel Funeral and Cremation Services, Pio Nono Avenue in Macon, is in charge of arrangements.
