MADISON, Minn. – Funeral services for Susan Lee, 60, of Madison, Minn., were held on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009, at 3 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Madison, Minn. Rev. Kirk Meseck officiated. Special music was provided by soloist Julie Hill with Linda Anderson at the organ and Jack Lundquist on bagpipe. A service of remembrance was held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19, 2009, at First Lutheran Church in Milford with Rev. Tim Nappe officiating. Interment was at Lakeview Gardens, Spirit Lake.

She died Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009, at her home in Madison.

Susan Ellen Hutchinson was born on June 3, 1949, to parents Donald and Annabel (Goldsberry) Hutchinson in Cedar Rapids. She attended school in Estherville, graduating in 1967. She continued her education at the University of Iowa. She married Lonnie Lee on Sept. 3, 1968, in Estherville. Susan and Lonnie lived in Estherville and Cedar Falls before making their home in Storm Lake for 17 years. In 1993 they moved to Madison, Minn., where she was an active partner in their grocery store, Jubilee Foods. While in Madison she was involved in the Madison Community Foundation Board, Kiwanis Club, Chamber of Commerce, the Prairie Arts Center and the Appleton Prairie Waters Foundation. Throughout her life, Susan enjoyed reading, traveling, antiquing and home decorating. Most of all, she loved spending time with Lonnie, her children, and grandchildren and in Okoboji at the “Cabinet.”

Susan is survived by her husband, Lonnie, of Madison; their three children Amanda Lee and Heather Hickson of Asheville, N.C., Elizabeth (Lee) and Chad Breidenbach of Sioux Falls, S.D. and Matthew and Megan Lee of Golden Valley, Minn.; grandchildren Alexander, Grant and Kaitlyn Breidenbach and honorary grandchildren Tierney and Kellyn Schulz. She is also survived by two sisters, Julia Graves of Estherville and Deborah Heaton of South Sioux City, Neb., and one brother, Adrian Hutchinson, of Alcester, S.D. She was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather Glenn Bolty.

Pallbearers were Delmer Lee, Jeb Lee, Steve Neuroth, Lyn Berkland, Kevin Lee and Justin Lee. Honorary pallbearers were the employees of Jubilee.
