ESTHERVILLE – Funeral services for Alice Jandl, 82, of Estherville will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, July 1, 2010, at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville with Father Brian Hughes officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday only. Interment will be at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Estherville.
She died Friday, June 25, 2010, at Immanuel St. Joseph Hospital in Mankato, Minn.
Alice (Renicker) Jandl, the daughter of Harry and Jenny (Oster) Renicker, was born March 29, 1928, in Leland.
She graduated from Buffalo Center High School in 1946.
She met Robert Jandl and on March 5, 1951, they were united in marriage in Algona. The couple made their home in different locations in both Minnesota and Iowa, finally settling in Estherville. Alice was employed by Tony Downs at Wadco Foods in Estherville. Later she was employed at Berkley in Spirit Lake.
Alice is survived by her children, Deborah Wiedow and her husband, Jeff, of Hot Springs, S.D., Terry Jandl of Lodgepole, Neb., Cindy Morgan and her husband, Mike, of Rapid City, S.D., Steven Jandl and his wife, Vanda, of Lake Crystal, Minn. and John Jandl and his wife, Esther, of St. James, Minn.; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Marie Swisher of Darwin, Minn., Betty Ottman and friend, Jack Newton, of Hartley and Jeanette McAllister and her husband, Walt, of Lake George, Minn.; brother, Martin Renicker, and his wife, Iva, of Redwood City, Calif. and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Alice in death were her husband, Robert; parents; daughter, Katherine Jandl-Douville; her sister, Irene and her husband, Gerald; niece, Bonnie Anderson and brother-in-law, Ivan Swisher.
