Miriam Louise ‘Dick’ Campbell

Miriam Louise “Dick” Campbell passed away March 7, 2011, in Mesa, Ariz, where she had moved permanently in the mid 90s. She was born in Estherville July 16, 1921, to Clarence and Martha Anderson and lived almost her entire life on a farm east of Esterville her parents had purchased when she was a young child.

“Dick” was graduated from Gruver High School. She was a lifetime member of the Gruver Presbyterian Church and will be remembered for her work there and as a 4-H leader in Emmet County. She was a member of the Soil and Water Commission in the county.

She was married to Robert C. Campbell Nov. 27, 1940. They farmed the Anderson farm for all of their married life. Bob preceded her in death in 1995 . She was also preceded in death by her parents and an older sister, Evelyn Proprofsky.

She is survived by one sister, M. Janis (Bush) Kruse and a niece, Patricia and her husband Jerry Phipps, all of Sprit Lake and their five children and spouses.

A graveside burial service will be held at a later date.

The Schuchert Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
