Dale Eugene Marriott, the son of Harold and Gertrude (Conlon) Marriott, was born May 15, 1939, in Estherville.

Dale’s work ethic started at a young age delivering newspapers and working at Kinnard’s Dairy. He received his education in Estherville schools. At the age of 17 he joined the United States Air Force and served his country for four years. He returned to Estherville and worked for John Morrell. On Aug. 3, 1962, he was united in marriage to Nancy Harvego at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Estherville. In 1965, he moved his family to Dubuque and worked at John Deere, retiring in March of 1996. Dale and his wife, Nancy, returned to Estherville to enjoy their retirement but Dale’s need to work got the best of him and he went to work for Motor Inn of Estherville where he worked with his Hanson brother, Wendall.

He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and an active member of Knights of Columbus where he was past Grand Night. Dale enjoyed riding his Harley where he was a member of H.O.G., his bicycle, walking, playing cards, crossword puzzles and playing his guitar.
