Delbert Bernie Hardecopf, the son of Bernie and Beatrice (Peterson) Hardecopf, was born March 11, 1947, in Estherville.
He received his education in the Armstrong schools, graduating from Armstrong High School. After completing his education Delbert served in the United States Air Force. Following his honorable discharge he returned to the Armstrong area.
On Dec. 29, 1968, Delbert was united in marriage to Janet Richmond at the Presbyterian Church in Armstrong. Delbert loved to travel with his wife, taking trips during the winter months. Cruising was one of his passions. He also loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. A longtime season ticket holder for the Minnesota Vikings, Delbert enjoyed watching the games with his son to whom he passed on his love of the game.
He was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church in Armstrong. He was well loved in the community and will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish Delbert’s memory are his wife, Janet, of Armstrong; his children, Amy (Scott) Morrow, Welcome, Minn., and Andy (Vanessa) Hardecopf, Carver, Minn.; grandchildren, Todd and Brianna Morrow, Ava and Tate Hardecopf; sister, Bernice Vigdal, of Armstrong, brother, Delmer Hardecopf, and his wife, Kathy, of Armstrong and also many extended family members.
