Haley Brooke Hansen was born on April 14, 1983 in Sioux City. She passed away on Oct. 31, 2016 in Sioux Falls, S.D.

She was preceded in death by her step-father, John Bahr, an infant uncle Damon Godbold and her paternal grandfather Merlin Hansen of Whittemore.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Cecelia Hansen and Cyrus Huey of Fremont, Neb., her mother, Debbie Bahr of Fremont, Neb., her father, Jerry (Marlene) Hansen of Estherville; brothers Nathan (Amy) Hansen of Estherville, Jonathan (Ashley) Hansen of Graettinger, and a sister Mercedes (Dean) Thompson of Livermore; nephews and nieces, Nicholas and Alyssa Hansen, Addison and Brooklyn Hansen and Lawton and Bridger Thompson. Her Grandparents, Jerry and Darlene Godbold of Estherville and Ruth Hansen of Algona, several aunts and uncles and cousins and many friends.

Haley attended schools in Estherville, Spirit Lake, and graduated high school from South East Polk in Des Moines.

Haley grew up attending tap and jazz classes in Spirit Lake and loved getting dressed up in the costumes. She loved animals, music and “Skittles” and was nicknamed that by her step -father.

She definitely was not a “girly-girl”, and was happier in sweats and a T-shirt than a dress. She had a beautiful smile and two big dimples!

There are several ways you could honor her memory, donating to her children Cecelia and Cyrus (1620 W. Dakota St. Fremont, NE 68025), a donation to the American Juvenile Diabetes Association, your local D.A.R.E program, or the Humane Society.
