Becky Ann Dodge was born to George (Bill) and Gladys (Smith) Bruett on June 5, 1947. Becky graduated from Estherville High School in 1965. On June 1, 1968, Becky was united in marriage to Dennis Dodge who passed away on Oct. 10, 2008. Dennis and Becky had three daughters: Kris (Jim) Schobert of Brandon, S.D., Cindi (Wade) Gronau of Redwood Falls, Minn., and Cherilyn (Clint) Krichau of Gilmore City. Becky had nine grandchildren that she adored; Ashley, Lucas & Lindsey Schobert; Grant, Garret, & Gabe Gronau; and Cody, Carter & Catelyn Krichau.

Becky led her life with zest. She was always a fun seeker. Her goal was to be a “fun” grandma emulating that of her “Grandma Trixie.” She often made her daughters’ roll their eyes whether it was unexpected haircuts for grandchildren, questionable movies, hot fudge sundaes for breakfast or thrill rides. Her love of adventure has left a permanent mark on her grandchildrens’ hearts.

Her family was very important to her. After the departure of her husband, Becky and her sisters had “girls night out” every week. Although Becky was frightened of water, she and her sisters’ adventures led to a golf cart in a pond and a quick dip in the pool in Mexico fully clothed. She also enjoyed time with her mother and brother each evening walking their dogs.

Becky enjoyed spending time with her family at Ottertail Lake each June. She cherished annual Christmas shopping trips with her daughters not only for the shopping but the laughs and fun times she created. She was a great cook and baker. She also enjoyed quilting and crafts. Becky and her husband, Dennis, enjoyed dancing, card club, and their friends. Becky and her friends have many great memories.

In addition to her daughters and their families, Becky is survived by her mother, Gladys Bruett, mother in law, Anna Dodge; siblings: Susan (John) Rink, Mary (Harry) Hobmeier, Mike Bruett, and Tammy (Darrell) Hoffman, sister in law, Marilyn (Dale) Grabarczyk, brother in law, Doug (Lynn) Dodge, along with 12 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, father, and father in law, Donald Dodge.

Becky’s family would like to extend a sincere thank you to her professional caregivers, for the loving care and support they showed through Becky through her three-year journey with Lewy Body Dementia. An online guestbook is available at www.georgeboom.com.
