Bonnie was born July 8, 1944 to Fred and Etta (Hellyer) Kleine near Ceylon, Minnesota.

She was baptized and confirmed at Ceylon Evangelical Lutheran Church and graduated from Ceylon High School in 1962. Following graduation Bonnie worked for Holiday Express in Estherville and then the Estherville Creamery where she met Alvin.

On April 2, 1966 she was united in marriage to Alvin Dalen. The couple made their home on the farm between Wallingford and Graettinger for 4 years and then moved to Estherville where together they raised their two daughters, Traci and Jill. Bonnie briefly did at home daycare and then began working at Fitzgibbons Law Firm until her retirement. After her retirement Bonnie gladly took on the task of doing bookwork for her son-in- law, Pete in the office for Midwest Technology Services until medical issues caused her to fully retire.

Bonnie was a member of Estherville Lutheran Church for many years until her and Alvin moved to Graettinger, IA in 2007 and became members of Bethel Lutheran Church. After Alvin passed in 2013, Bonnie moved to Homestead in Estherville. In September of 2019, she moved to Ruthven Assisted Living due to progression of Dementia. Bonnie lived there until September 2020 when her health required her to move into Ruthven Community Care Center. Bonnie loved to visit and have coffee with friends and family as well as spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Bonnie is survived by her daughters, Traci Akridge and Jill (Pete) Heinrichs; grandchildren, Miles Heady, Destiny Akridge, Annika Akridge, Emma Heinrichs, Eric Heinrichs and Jayda Wegner-Mendoza; great-grandchild Kolt Heady; brother Fred Kleine; and many nieces and nephews.

She has been preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Alvin, two infant daughters, and her sister, Karla Worden.
