Private family ser-vices for Bonnie J. Dalen, 76, of Es-therville will be held at the Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville with Pastor Tim John-son officiating. In-terment will be at Valley View Cem-etery, Graettinger. Bonnie passed away on Dec. 31, 2020, at the Ruthven Com-munity Care Center.Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-12 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021, at the Hen-ry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville.Bonnie was born July 8, 1944 to Fred and Etta (Hellyer) Kleine near Cey-lon, Minnesota.She was baptized and confirmed at Ceylon Evan-gelical Lutheran Church and graduated from Cey-lon High School in 1962. Following graduation Bon-nie worked for Holiday Express in Estherville and then the Estherville Cream-ery where she met Alvin.On April 2, 1966 she was united in marriage to Alvin Dalen. The couple made their home on the farm between Wallingford and Graettinger for 4 years and then moved to Estherville where together they raised their two daughters, Traci and Jill. Bonnie briefly did at home daycare and then began working at Fitzgib-bons Law Firm until her retirement. After her retire-ment Bonnie gladly took on the task of doing book-work for her son-in- law, Pete in the office for Midwest Tech-nology Services until medical is-sues caused her to fully retire.Bonnie was a member of Es-therville Lutheran Church for many years until her and Alvin moved to Graetting-er, IA in 2007 and became members of Bethel Luther-an Church. After Alvin passed in 2013, Bonnie moved to Homestead in Es-therville. In September of 2019, she moved to Ruth-ven Assisted Living due to progression of Dementia. Bonnie lived there until September 2020 when her health required her to move into Ruthven Community Care Center. Bonnie loved to visit and have coffee with friends and family as well as spending time with her children and grandchil-dren.Bonnie is survived by her daughters, Traci Akridge and Jill (Pete) Heinrichs; grandchildren, Miles Heady, Destiny Akridge, Annika Akridge, Emma Heinrichs, Eric Heinrichs and Jayda Wegner-Men-doza; great-grandchild Kolt Heady; brother Fred Kleine; and many nieces and nephews.She has been preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Alvin, two infant daughters, and her sister, Karla Worden.Online condolences may be left for the family at www.hen-ryolsonfuneral.com
