To the EDN:

The American Red Cross came back to Estherville on Tuesday, April 22, 2008, for another successful blood drive. Our goal was to collect 80 units, and we were able to collect 87 units from the wonderful people of Estherville and Emmet County, not to forget one donor who comes from Ceylon!

We were pleased to award some gallon pins during this drive. One gallon pins went to Joe Lybarger, Lori Keeler, Barbara Mack and Deb Petersen. Janice Brandt was given her two gallon pin and Denise Johnson received her seven gallon pin. Thank you all for being so giving!

We also welcomed three new donors who said that they would keep coming back: Brandon Cooklin, Cassandra Harris and Joe Crowse.

This drive was sponsored by our friends at Sieverts Furniture and Flooring. Thank you for your sponsorship and your generosity in continuing to donate.

The next blood drive will be Thursday, Aug. 7 from 12:30 until 6:30 p.m. This drive will be sponsored by and held at the United Methodist Church, thanks to Pastor Potter and his congregation.

Thanks again to the sponsors, donors and the Red Cross workers who come to Estherville. Remember, each unit of blood that is donated had the capability of saving three lives!
