It was a pretty remarkable feat when Excel! Estherville topped its goal of raising $100,000 in 100 days. In fact, they bettered it by $4,181.38.

On Tuesday night, Excel! Estherville called volunteers together in a meeting at the Sleep Inn & Suites in Estherville to sign up for committees.

It’s important that people who have an interest in Estherville’s future contact the Estherville Area Chamber of Commerce at 362-3541 to indicate what area in which they are interested and how they would like to help.

The areas include tourism, recreation, new business, housing, existing business, diversity, community relationships, beautification, and arts and culture. If you have expertise or an interest in any of those areas, please call today.

It takes a community effort to make community improvement. Excel! Estherville is by no means an elitist organization. Indeed, Excel! Estherville includes people from all walks of life who want to see our community improved and to become the best that it can possibly be.

By working as a volunteer, you will be making a personal investment in Estherville’s future. You will have a voice in shaping the future of Estherville.

Maybe you would like to see a city campground to help attract visitors. You could help with that.

Maybe you would like to see a hiking and biking trail through Estherville. If you have ideas on how to make that happen, Excel! Estherville wants to hear from you.

Possibly you know a business that would like to relocate. Let Excel! Estherville know.

Your involvement is essential if Excel! Estherville is to work. By targeting 100 volunteers, Excel! Estherville is by no means limiting participation to that number of people. The number 100 is a goal. And the more volunteers that can be found, the better.
