It’s been a long winter, and we’re all long overdue for a little entertainment.
You’ll find it in Estherville this weekend, starting with Meteorite Night Friday night. The Black Knights Car Club, originally founded in 1955 and reactivated a little over two years ago, will have its first cruise-in of the summer from 6-10 p.m. in Library Square. Come out and see all the beautiful, classic cars from Estherville and the surrounding area and recollect the times when gas was cheap and cruising was something any teenager could afford to do.
The cars will head out for their cruise at 7 p.m. with stops at Estherville Good Samaritan Society and Rosewood Manor.
Also Friday night, the Estherville Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a steak sandwich dinner from 5-7 p.m. and the movie Shark Tale will be held in the outdoor theatre in Court House Square after dark.
On Saturday, the annual American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Emmet County will be held in Library Square.
Food will be served from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. with the opening ceremony at noon.
A full slate of entertainment is scheduled, starting with the Many Voices Choir at 1 p.m. and going through the day. The auction will be held at 1:30 p.m.
At 8:30 p.m. the final amount raised will be announced. The luminaries will be lit at dusk.
The final closing ceremony will be held 7 a.m. Sunday.
So enjoy Emmet County this weekend!
