It’s tournament time for both softball and baseball teams this week, so if you haven’t had a chance to watch your school’s teams this year opportunities are limited.
Today, Class 3A Regional play begins for the Estherville Lincoln Central Midgettes as they travel to Algona for a 7 p.m. contest.
ELC compiled a 28-9 record this season which included Mindy Brechwald’s 200th career victory as head coach.
The Spirit Lake softball team also is in action today at Spencer.
On the east side of Emmet County, the Armstrong-Ringsted softball team continues Class 1A postseason play against Riceville at Northwood on Monday. The Mustangs are rated 12th in their class.
On Tuesday, the Graettinger/Terril and Armstrong-Ringsted baseball teams open tournament play at 5 p.m. in Bancroft.
The Estherville Lincoln Central baseball team finishes up the regular season this coming week with the Class 3A District first round starting Friday in Spirit Lake. The Midgets play Spencer at 5 p.m. followed by Storm Lake vs. Spirit Lake.
