It has been a quite a year for the families of 75 troops who were sent overseas to do a job.
The job was to be a military presence in Kosovo.
The job was also to safeguard our freedoms.
They did their job admirably.
We welcomed them back safe and sound, and thank them for their sacrifice.
And we were not the only ones Friday who were applauding and cheering all of the men who left from Estherville on July 20, 2007.
The stadium at Estherville Lincoln Central’s Hoyt Luithly Field was filled with many, many happy family members, friends and supporters who were overjoyed at the sight. It was a beautiful display of military precision too as the Guardsmen marched in formation to enter the stadium.
God Bless the Guardsmen for their true blue loyalty to their county and to us.
And God Bless this country from those forces which only work to destroy our spirit and beliefs.
