Small town Iowa-safe financial haven

While there may be safety in numbers, it appears to be a safer bet to live in small town Iowa where the financial climate is dodging the national fire storm.

We applaud administrators of our local financial lending institutions in Estherville who chose the high road and were conscientious about when to and when not to approve loans.

While local banks and credit unions could have loosened up regulations to increase the number of loans for purposes of bank business, they refused to lower standards.

It is a terrific feeling to realize all of our local lenders believe that confidence among Estherville financial institution customers remains high.

We thank local lenders for maintaining the highest standard when it comes to making loans and conducting other financial business. In the long haul, this is beneficial to all of us.
