Daily News Editorial
Congratulations to the Emmet County 4-H and FFA members for their rewards from the 2009 Emmet County Fair.
Saturday’s Daily News will feature complete results of both exhibits and livestock entries and it is very obvious that these youth put in countless hours and deep thought for their fair projects.
According to this year’s results, 33 exhibits are headed to the 2009 Iowa State Fair.
And new 4-H’ers also stepped up to the plate. Twenty-two fourth graders had at least one exhibit deemed outstanding for their first year, showing the future of 4-H in Emmet County shows plenty of potential.
Hats off to our 4-H clubs in Emmet County. To say we are proud of you is very much an understatement. Congratulations on your awards, your dedication and your willingness to make the world a better place for all of us. We salute your clover and all it stands for: head, hands, health and heart.
For those unfamiliar with the 4-H pledge:
My head to better thinking;
My heart to greater loyalty;
My hands to larger service and
My health for better living
For my club, my community, my country and my world.
