The excitement and newness of the new school facilities in Estherville may be tempered by learning the new procedures to safely get students to school.

On the front page of today’s newspaper, the Estherville Police Department spells out what it expects from parents dropping their children at the school. It will benefit all if everyone can show some patience while learning the routine.

Give yourself plenty of time so you’re not rushed. A good night’s sleep followed by breakfast will help keep any tempers in check.

“Watch out for kids,” becomes especially true both in the morning and when school let’s out-especially as Highway 4 South is still under construction.

Don’t make the first day of school one to remember for the wrong reasons.
