To the EDN:

On behalf of the Regional Wellness Center, I would like to extend a great big thank you to the participants, our Sponsors and to everyone who volunteered to help during our 5K Run, Triathlon, and Kid’s Triathlon that was held on Saturday, May, 29th.

The event drew 179 participants for the three races. This represents a 45 percent increase in participation over last’s years event. Over 75 percent of the participants came from communities outside of Estherville. We drew participants from Omaha, Sioux City, Sioux Falls, Brookings, Minneapolis, Des Moines, Rochester, and all points in-between. While in Estherville for the event, many of them dined, shopped, stayed in our motels, and filled up with gas.

First, I would like to say thank you to our event sponsors: Hoyer Chiropractic, Pizza Hut, Riverside Sinclair, M.E.’s Body Shop. Avera Holy Family Health, Employee’s Credit Union, HyVee, NorthStar Bank and Agency, Green Plains Superior LLC, Northwest Bank, Iowa Lakes Electric Cooperative, ExCel! Also a big thank you to Roger Patocka, Emmet County Engineer and his staff for road repair prior to the race.
