It was only four days, but for the youth, parents and volunteers, the 2010 Emmet County Fair and Agricultural Show was a time of preparation followed by waiting followed by show time and then of course -repeating the cycle over again.

Thanks to all who made this year’s event possible. Although the youth might sometimes forget to say thanks to the parents, grandparents and other relatives and friends who helped with projects or animal exhibits, it surely was appreciated.

The 2010 Fair had its share of first-time winers and that is once-in-a-lifetime experience deserving of that coveted blue-ribbon (or purple) recognition.

Even though the fair can be a lot of work for all involved, it’s also a great time to reconnect with friends and neighbors we don’t get to see because we’re too busy making a living.

Watch the Daily News later this week to view all the results of the exhibitors’ (and their family’s) hard work.
