Thank you Emmet County
To the Editor:
I wish to thank all the good people of Emmet County for all they did in making the events honoring Viet Nam War veterans a great success. Receiving a Quilt of Valor was an honor and gift very precious to me and I will cherish it forever.
I am not a native of Emmet and grew up in Buena Vista County. I left from there in 1968 for the Marine Corps and served in Viet Nam with H&S Co., 2nd Battalion, 26th Marine Regiment from April 1969 to March 1970. After being in Emmet County for the past 20 years, it has become my home County and I thank you all for making me feel welcome here. It was a great day for me.
Unbeknownst to me, my wife invited some of my family from Buena Vista, Webster, and Washington counties; I was very pleasantly surprised. We had a very good time visiting with each other after the ceremony. Thank you all very, very much for such a great day.
