Community benefits help many

By Staff | Mar 26, 2011

A lot of folks got help last night at the Wholly Grape & Ale Goes Hollywood! benefit at the Estherville Golf Course.

The annual Wholly Grape & Ale fundraiser held again Friday night is a great way for folks to get together and have a great time and help buy needed equipment at Avera Holy Family Health in Estherville. Funds raised this year will go toward a permanent MRI facility at the hospital.

Also tonight, the annual Emmet County Nature Center banquet will be held with proceeds going to help pay down the debt on the Nature Center at Wolden Campground and for nature education programs. That’s a direct benefit to taxpayers.

Next Saturday at 8 p.m. the annual Woodys Charities charity auction will be held at Woody’s Pizza.

Anyone who wishes to donate to the auction may contact Woody’s Pizza at 362-5610 or call Tony or Jody Condon at 362-5919.

This is also March Madness for Charity, so contact Woody’s Pizza for more information.

Proceeds from the Woody’s Charities benefit auction help Emmet and Dickinson County residents with degenerative diseases. Money goes for expenses related to an individual’s illness.

We are indeed lucky to have people in Emmet County who believe in these great fundraisers held to help others.

If you have visited Avera Holy Family Health, gone to the Emmet County Nature Center or benefitted from one of its nature programs or received help from Woodys Charities, you know firsthand the benefits that these fundraisers provide.

So thanks, everyone, and we hope you all have a great time!
