Thanks for helping, folks

There was a great turnout for both the Wholly Grape & Ale fundraiser and the Emmet County Nature Center banquet this past weekend. Proceeds from Wholly Grape & Ale are going toward an in-house MRI facility while money raised from the Nature Center banquet will go to help pay down the debt on the Nature Center at Wolden Campground.

If you didn’t get a chance to attend either event, you’ll still have a chance to attend a fun event for charity – the annual Woody’s Charities auction 8 p.m. Saturday at Woody’s Pizza in Estherville.

Tony and Jody Condon have held the charity auction for quite a few years now. Woody’s Charities was founded in 1998 to help Emmet and Dickinson County residents with degenerative diseases pay for such things as gas to medical treatments, wheelchairs, ramps and relocating appliances.

Just as is the case in past years, there are a lot of great items in this year’s auction. Auction contributors include:

n Randy’s Body & Wrecker.
