Don’t miss Black Knights cruise-in tonight

By Staff | May 6, 2011

You know it’s spring when classic cars line up along Library Square and the sounds of rock ‘n roll echo from Second Avenue North to Central.

The Black Knights Car Club will hold its first cruise-in of the season tonight from 6:30 p.m. You can see Chevys and Fords, Mopars and Buicks, all shined up pretty and ready to roll.

The Black Knights Car Club, which began in 1955, still has a handful of original members in the club that was reactivated five years ago.

Team Anderson will also serve a great meal from 5:30-7 p.m. with proceeds going to Emmet County Relay for Life. Get a hot turkey sandwich, baked beans, coleslaw, coffee and a bar for just $5.

As a nonprofit organization, The Black Knights regularly donate to worthy causes. Members also attend car shows and cruise-ins regionally, drumming up support for the annual Sweet Corn Days Car Show and the airport drags which will be held again this year in Spencer.

If you’d like to learn more about the Black Knights Car Club, drop by the cruise-in tonight or attend the next meeting 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 7 at the Estherville VFW.
